Canisius University Men's Soccer Recruiting

Start with Michael Tanke, the head coach. The men's staff is small, with one assistant coach and one goalkeeper coach alongside the head coach, so the head coach almost certainly reads recruiting mail personally. Copy the assistants so the whole staff sees the same message.

As general context, NCAA Division I is the highest level of college soccer. D1 programs may offer athletic scholarships, and most D1 rosters are largely settled a year or more before a recruiting class enrolls. Canisius University ranks in the lower part of its division by Massey rank, so a prepared recruit who follows up is more likely to get a direct look than at a top ranked program.

On a campus this size the men's soccer staff usually knows the admissions office well, so academic fit comes up early in the conversation. The acceptance rate is 72 percent, so include your grades and any test scores in the first message.
