College Soccer Recruiting Timeline for the Class of 2028

If you are in the class of 2028, you are at the perfect time to start your recruiting journey. Here is your month by month plan.

Spring 2026 (Sophomore Year)

April to June:

• Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center
• Create your first highlight video from current season footage
• Build an initial list of 30 to 50 target schools
• Begin researching programs and coaches
• Take the PSAT

Summer 2026

July to August:

• Attend 1 to 2 showcase tournaments
• Send introductory emails to coaches at your target schools
• Film every competitive game this summer
• Visit 2 to 3 campuses informally (just to get a feel)
• Start SAT/ACT prep

Fall 2026 (Junior Year)

September:

• D1 coaches can now officially contact you (June 15 rule applies to calls/texts, September 1 for the rest)
• Send your updated highlight video to all target coaches
• Begin monthly email updates

October to November:

• Attend fall showcases
• Schedule unofficial visits at your top 5 schools
• Take the SAT/ACT

December:

• Review your school list and narrow to 15 to 20
• Send end of fall season recap to coaches
• Plan spring showcase attendance

Spring 2027

January to March:

• Continue monthly emails with performance updates
• Film spring season games
• Update your highlight video
• Take official campus visits if invited

April to June:

• Peak decision making period for many recruits
• Attend spring showcases
• Narrow to your top 3 to 5 schools
• Consider verbal commitment if you have found the right fit

Summer 2027

July to August:

• Final showcase opportunities
• Take official visits if you have not committed
• Prepare for college if committed

Senior Year (2027 to 2028)
